1977: The year punk went mainstream

THAT WAS THE YEAR: A box exploring some of the things that were happening in 1977 – when punk went mainstream with albums by the Sex Pistols, The Clash and The Stranglers; and at the same time we were dancing to Donna Summer, Baccara and Abba. And watching Star Wars and Close Encounters as NASA launched the first Space Shuttle test flights and Voyager 2 carried the sounds of Earth into space.
